Inter-Faith Hospitality Network

The Network will not operate in 2008.

The Glenside Ministerium is be part of an Inter-faith Hospitality Network of the Inter-Faith Housing Alliance in Eastern Montgomery County. This new network in this area began in January of 2004.

“Inter-Faith's mission is to serve God by providing charitable services to persons located in Montgomery County whose life situations have become unstable. These charitable services shall include homelessness prevention, temporary shelter, guidance in life skills, and assistance in locating appropriate housing opportunities thus enabling families at risk to remain in or return to independent living.”

In the Ministerium several churches have volunteered to be hosts and other congregations have volunteered to be buddies.

The Hosts provide the space and some volunteers. The Buddies provide the rest of the volunteers.

St. Luke Church supplied most of the volunteers for the program in the month of April, 2004 and April, 2005. The host was the First Baptist Church of Glenside. The First Baptist Church of Glenside has changed its name to the Resurrection Community Church. We had planned to work with them again in April 2006 but the Network was suspended in 2006. We again worked with Resurrection Community Church in May, 2007.
