St. Luke’s Youth Group

The St. Luke’s Youth Group is open to all High School and College age youth of the parish.

You are welcome to bring your friends.

  Your friends do not have to be Catholic or members of St. Luke’s Parish.

The St. Luke’s Youth Group is compiling a list of potential musicians and singers for upcoming youth Masses this year. We will have a new music leader, Scott Mattingly. Some of you may already know him because he had previously led music for youth Masses a couple of years ago and also because he and his wife (Cat) have volunteered at several youth group events. We expect the music at our Masses to be lively, so we need all the help we can get. If you are interested in helping, please respond to either Scott at scottmattingly@hotmail.com or Charlie Spencer at stlukeyouthgroup@yahoo.com Scott will contact all musicians and singers.

Attention College Graduates!! The St. Luke’s Youth Group congratulates you on your achievement! We offer you our prayers and Best Wishes for your future wherever it takes you. We also welcome you to become involved in the St. Luke’s Youth Group as young adult volunteers! Bring your talents back to St. Luke’s and share them with our youth! You can help us with one event (Midnight Bowling, lock-in, masses, etc) or several, whatever your time allows. If you have any questions or interest call Charlie Spencer at 215-287-8731

2008-09 Calendar

• Sunday 9/21/08             Opening Mass and Barbecue  Mass at 3PM followed by Barbecue in the Parking Lot

• Sunday 10/12/2008     Parish Picnic – Run Games for young children of the parish

• No Mass in October due to Parish Picnic and Forty Hours.  We will be helping out at the parish picnic and suggest you attend the Forty Hour services with your families

• Sunday 11/2/08              The Amazing Race – Scavenger Hunt in Philly

• Sunday 11/16/08           5:30 Youth Mass followed by pizza, preparation of the  Thanksgiving Baskets and Trivia Night in Father Fitzpatrick Hall

• Saturday 12/6/08          A Gift for You – Babysit children of the parish while their parents shop.  1:30 to 4:30 In Father Fitzpatrick Hall

• Sunday 12/21/08           5:30 Youth Mass followed by pizza and Part 1 of our College Prep Series in FFH.  College kids from the parish will share their college experiences with our Youth Group.  Our members and their friends will be able to ask questions about college life.  Parents are invited to attend.  More details later

• Sunday 1/18/09              5:30 Youth Mass followed by pizza and Part 2 of our College Prep Series in FFH.  Stay tuned for more details, but marks your calendar today!

• Friday 1/30/09               Laser Bowling at 11PM to 2 AM.

• Sunday 2/15/09              5:30 PM Youth Mass followed by pizza and Sing Star/Karaoke Revolution in Father Fitzpatrick Hall

• Saturday/Sunday 3/7-3/8/09           Lock-in  FFH

• Sunday 3/15/09              5:30 PM Youth Mass followed by pizza and Part 3 of our College Prep Series.  Stay tuned for more details, but marks your calendar today!

• Sunday 4/5/09                1:00 to 3:00 PM  Annual Easter Egg Hunt and Crafts in Father Fitzpatrick Hall

• Sunday 4/19/09              Final Youth Mass of the year.  5:30 PM Youth Mass followed by pizza and an activity in FFH.

We had a great turnout for our Youth Mass on November 18. After the Mass our members were able to put together 14 Thanksgiving Food Baskets for families in the area. After we completed the baskets the students enjoyed some pizza and dodge ball. Thank you to all who donated their time to help us with this event.
