Safe Environment Program

All adults who work with children in this parish are required to comply with the Safe Environment Program.

Full Documentation for the program is
1) Proof of Safe Environment Training
2) Signed Standards of Ministerial Behavior Form
3) PA State Police Clearance Background Check (Criminal History Clearance)
4) Child Abuse History Clearance

Full Documentation must be on file in either the rectory office or school office.

Safe Environment Training is available throughout the Archdiocese. You can register for training at http://www.virtus.org
We also have training several times a year at St. Luke Parish.

At the training session, each participant is given a Standards of Ministerial Behavior Signature Form. This form is to be signed and returned to the rectory. The form states "I acknowledge that I have received and reviewed the Standards of Ministerial Behavior and Boundaries for Priests, Deacons, Religious, Pastoral Ministers, Administrators, Staff and Volunteers. I understand and will abide by all the standards as articulated in this statement."

Clearances

You can request the clearances from the state yourself. You will need a recent PA State Police Clearance Background Check before you can request the Child Abuse History Clearance. The forms for the request are these:  PA State Police Clearance Background Check and Child Abuse History Clearance. You can also request and obtain a PA State Police Clearance Background Check (Criminal History Clearance) online (go to http://www.psp.state.pa.us/ and click on "Criminal History Request Online" - you need a credit card - fee is $10.00.). The Child Abuse History Clearance will be sent to your home. When you obtain it please bring that and the processed PA State Police Clearance Background Check to the rectory. Volunteers will be reimbursed.

The rectory can process these requests for you. Please fill in the Child Abuse History Clearance request form and bring/send it to the rectory to the attention of Joe Hart or Jeanne Kyle. Please note that the processed Child Abuse History Clearance will be sent to you. When you receive it please bring it to the rectory.

Please contact Joe Hart, businessoffice@stlukerc.org,  or Jeanne Kyle, stlukerc@aol.com, at the rectory for more information about this Program.
