At the training session, each participant is given a Standards of Ministerial Behavior Signature Form. This form is to be signed and returned to the rectory. I understand and will abide by all the standards as articulated in this statement."

Clearances

You can request the clearances from the state yourself. You will need a recent PA State Police Clearance Background Check before you can request the Child Abuse History Clearance. The forms for the request are these:  PA State Police Clearance Background Check and Child Abuse History Clearance. You can also request and obtain a PA State Police Clearance Background Check (Criminal History Clearance) online (go to http://www.psp.state.pa.us/ and click on "Criminal History Request Online" - you need a credit card - fee is $10.00.). The Child Abuse History Clearance will be sent to your home. When you obtain it please bring that and the processed PA State Police Clearance Background Check to the rectory. Volunteers will be reimbursed.

The rectory can process these requests for you. Please fill in the Child Abuse History Clearance request form and bring/send it to the rectory to the attention of Jeanne Kyle. Please note that the processed Child Abuse History Clearance will be sent to you unless you sign a waiver. When you receive it please bring it to the rectory.

The Technology and Communication Addendum—this requirement became effective on May 1, 2011

You are required to complete a training concerning “The Technology and Communication Addendum” to the “Standards of Ministerial Behavior.” This training must be completed in order for the volunteer to maintain an active status in the Safe Environment Program. The training was online until the beginning of September. Now volunteers must go to an in-person training.

Volunteers who receive the Safe Environment Training after August 1, 2011 will receive this Technology and Communication Addendum Training as part of the program.

We will have this addendum training after the 9:30 and 11:30 Masses on January 29, 2012 and at the beginning of the Safe Environment training on January 18, 7 pm.

Mandatory Reporter Training Program—this requirement became effective on June 27, 2011

This training program is in addition to, as well as separate and distinct from, the Safe Environment Training already required for all clergy, staff, and volunteers working on behalf of the Archdiocese.
