Calix - Communion with Christ enhancing our Twelve Step Program.
There
are now three Calix groups in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia! Calix is an
international association of Catholic alcoholics (founded in 1947) who have and
are maintaining their sobriety through affiliation with, and participation in a
12-step alcohol recovery program. At St. Luke’s we have been meeting
weekly on Wednesdays. We will start with a holy hour at 6:45 pm
followed by a meeting, both taking place in the Chapel House. Other Calix groups
meet at St. Eleanor’s in Collegeville on the last Sunday of the month and in
Grey’s Ferry across from St. Gabriel’s each week on Tuesday evenings.
Calix’s
first concern is to interest Catholics with an alcohol problem in the VIRTUE of
total abstinence. Our second purpose is to promote the spiritual development of
our membership. Our participation in all other spiritual activities of Calix,
such as the frequent celebration of Mass, Sacraments, personal prayer, Holy
Hours, retreats, etc., aid us in our third objective- namely, striving for our
personal sanctification. We welcome
anyone interested in alcoholism as well other 12-step programs who are looking
to combine the spirituality of the 12-step program with the Catholic faith,
including non-Catholics.

Paper recycling - By popular demand, St Luke’s is now recycling ALL of our school (classroom/office) and parish paper. We have contracted with Abitibi Recycling, who supplied us with
three bright green/yellow Paper Retriever Bins (lower parking lot) free of charge, and will pay us by the ton for our paper.
We need all your:
Newspapers
Magazines
Shopping Catalogs
Office/School Papers
Mail
No Cardboard or phonebooks
Instead of putting your papers out for Township collection, bring them to Church and drop them in the Paper Retriever Bin! This recycling program is open to all school and parish families. Questions? Call Beth Stieritz 215-572-0128.
Young Adult Survey - Attn: Young Adults, Ages 18-35. What can we do for you? St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church is planning to start a Young Adult Ministry. But before we do so, we need to better understand the types of programs/issues that would be of interest to you. Please take a few moments to complete our survey
