2007

seussical2The cast of St. Luke Summerstock brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Suess characters, including Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Layzie Mayzie and all the Who's of Whoville! These classic, colorful tales are seamlessly brought together by Jojo, a young boy and a "thinker of strange and wonderful thinks"!

The members of St. Luke summer stock range in age from first grade through eighth grade.
They practiced from June to August to put on another stellar performance.

Show dates were Tuesday, August 7, and Wednesday, August 8, at the Keswick Theatre in Glenside.

100 of St. Luke's parishioners from first through eighth grade in St. Luke's Summer Stock rehearsed during the summer school break for the production of "Honk! Jr." A contemporary adaptation of Hans Christian Anderson's "The Ugly Duckling," this story has been transformed into a modern musical comedy, appealing for the entire family.

"Honk Jr." follows "Ugly," an 'unfortunate' looking duckling, and his struggles to fit in. Separated from the farm and pursued by a hungry Cat, Ugly must find his way home; with only his loving mother "Ida" searching for him. Along his rollicking and harrowing journey he learns that being different is okay, and that somewhere out there, someone's gonna love you - warts and all! This delightful tale celebrates individuality and love of family. Honk Jr. features a fast-paced score and hilarious characters that will surely entertain both children and adults.
